We were asked to design and develop a new branding of Whisky for the Turkish market - Tomatin, the producers of Drambuie, was asked to distil and bottle the product.
Our research found that two words in English meant the same in Turkish - ‘Silk & Royal’ - and so the brand was born. We developed many variations in colour and layout for the label, to be presented to focus groups in Istanbul. Eventually the final idea was chosen and Royal Silk became the number one selling whisky in Istanbul.
